Description: The composer, who is Jewish, was inspired to write this song after watching Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner sing gospel music on TV. Played at the Big A for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (it's always so hard to write or say that: just like jumbo shrimp, war games, popular culture, living dead, the Pac-10, the Big-10, the Big-12, Middle East peace, Minerals Management Service, Rap artists, enemy non-combatant, environmental protection, Lady Gaga, political ethics, Auto-Tune, blowout preventer, Jewish gospel music and similar oxymorons) when the Halos' starting lineup is announced. Also played while the late Hunter S. Thompson's ashes were fired out of a cannon on August 20, 2005 at Owl Farm, his home while on this earth in Woody Creek, Colorado. John Lennon said he liked the song, stating that he "always liked simple rock and nothing else."
