Those with an interest in cinema and a keen ear may recognize the piece from the film Badlands, selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the United States National Film Registry in 1993 as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant," Phi Beta Kappa Rhodes Scholar and American director Terrence Malick's ode to the West, youth, juvenile delinquency, lost innocence, and the fall from grace.
